welcome.
i started this blog for my friend courtney, who recently lost her home and everything she owns to the tornadoes that hit tennessee. i wanted to help her, but being so far away and not knowing what she needs, aside from a big hug, this seemed like the best way.
a little about courtney: she is amazing. she shines, she has this glow, this beam of love that comes out from her eyes, her face. she is happy and peaceful, and has worked so so hard to get to that place. i know some of her demons, and have seen her vanquish them. she inspires me to be better, stronger, less scared.
courtney met her fiance, morgan, through volunteering. she knew pretty much right away that he was awesome, and that possibly he was the right man for her. he was in tennessee, and she was in nyc. so a couple (2 maybe?) years ago, she packed her stuff up and took a risk to move to tennessee and find out if he was the one. well, he is! and they were engaged a few months back.
and now, when they look back at the beginning together, 20 years from now, she can say "see how much i love you? i really did give up everything to be with you."
so this site is for her, for them. hopefully she'll post here and let us all know how she is doing, and possibly post pictures when she is ready. if pressed, maybe she'll post lists of what she and morgan need. she is not one to ask for help this way, which is why i am doing this. to let us, her sterling family, give her the help we want to give, the help she needs and deserves.
because what is community for, if not to help it's members in need? i am sure that courtney has been there for each and every one of us at a moment in need. i know she was there for me. and now it's our turn to be there for her.
